Grace was born and that joy turned to worry as the Brezenskis found out that Grace has Emanuel Syndrome, a rare syndrome that comes with severe health problems as well as cognitive and developmental disabilities. | Volunteers help food pantry garden grow |
Thanks to a grant received through the Madison Community Foundation and the Community Action Coalition of Dane County, the Severson Learning Farm and Cambridge Food Pantry have partnered together to start a food pantry garden at the Severson Learning Farm. Andrea Waski's horticulture class from Cambridge High School planted the garden during the spring session of the school year, as well as raised tomato plants inside the greenhouse at Cambridge High School for the garden. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.
